I used to play Imperium GBR in LAN parties all the time.
We had these honor rules:
- no using artifacts
- no using horses to capture stuff
- no using forts (sometimes)
- no using Egyptians
These rules were meant to let everyone play a slower-paced game without "harassment tactics" attacks.
In particular, we noticed that using horses to capture stuff on the other side of the map, while a valid tactic for experienced players, were quite tedious to novices.
Between friends, or when hosting a novice-friendly game, it's nice to have such options.
It would be nice to be able to enforce custom rules when hosting a server.
I suggest adding checkboxes to tweak the gameplay in multiplayer matches, allowing for customized games, like the above honor rules we used. Could you add that feature?
Of course, customized rules need be clearly visible to people in the server lobby, so they can decide to play if they like the customized rules, or pick a different server.
BTW we also played small tournaments online with the same honor rules, by asking (in chat) if the players agreed to them.
